mwfqCuxhaven (mwfgin basso tedesco mwfwCuxhoben, in mwgafrisone settentrionale mwgqCuxhuuwen) è una città della mwggBassa Sassonia, in mwgwGermania, abitata da circa 51.000 persone. È situata sulla costa del mwhaMare del Nord alla foce del mwhqfiume Elba. Cuxhaven copre un'area larga 14mwhg km, da est a ovest, e lunga 7mwhw km, da nord a sud. È il capoluogo del mwiacircondario di Cuxhaven ed è una popolare meta turistica sul mwiqMare del Nord.
Cuxhaven si fregia del titolo di "mwiwGrande città indipendente" (mwjaGroße selbständige Stadt). Nella chiesa di San Giacomo, presso la frazione di Lüdingworth, è presente un pregevole mwjqorgano monumentale. Anche la chiesa di San Nicola ad Altenbruch conserva un mwjgprestigioso organo.

Cuxhaven è relativamente giovane: infatti divenne città il 15 marzo mwlg1907.
Nel mwma1937 la cosiddetta "mwmqlegge sulla Grande Amburgo" decretò la cessione della città di Cuxhaven dal mwmgLand di Amburgo alla mwmwPrussia.cite-ref-2[2]
